This caprina species has been recognized recently on the part of the Meeting of Andalusia as autochthonous race on the verge of extinction.

Our development, made official in 1887, gathers centuries of dedication baby of the race of white Celtiberian goat, recognized on the part of the Meeting of Andalusia as “autochthonous race on the verge of extinction”

Being in turn the original flock that gave place to the rest of present cattles in the province, and we are interested in every sense that this good of historical and cultural interest does not get lost and continues being associated with the image of the zone of the Nature reserve that includes the saw of the Cabo de Gata.

The agricultural production consists of the annual sowing of approximately 200 Has.  of barley that they serve to complement the food of the cattle in the most arid epoch of the year and in turn as food reserve in these zones of sowing for great number of wild species that populate this nature reserve, this labor or agricultural practice being realized from immemorial time.
